Reasons why Christians stop attending church.

There are Christians at present that are not connected or involved with any church, why? I often question the reason and there are many. If you have the same inquiry, then you are in good company. Join me so we can explore the reasons. When beginning your Christian walk, everything is a new and beautiful. There is so much to do and there is nothing that can stand in your way. In a church retreat or in a journey; you found Jesus and accepted him as your own personal savior. On your walk, you become involved in learning all there is to learn, so you can grow in your spirit life. You attend church, get involved in many activities within the community to help those that are in need. As you grow, you become a part of a ministry within the church that you attend; the worship team, helping in the children's nursery, the dance team and the list may be endless but you get the picture. But somehow as time passes, you stop going, why?

Why do we attend church?

There are multiple reasons Christians attend church. Christians want to express the love for God and it is a way to increase in spiritual strength. We want to feel God's presence and be obedient to Him. We want to gain strength in prayer/ grow in spiritual leadership, celebrate the Lords day and most importantly, have the opportunity to fellowship with other Christians.

Why do Christians stop going to church?

Christians stop attending church due to a personal life crisis or perhaps, the incident occurred within the church. You decide not to discuss it with anyone and take it upon yourself just to stop going, why? In actuality, you do know deep down inside. In my experience; this happened to me. I stopped going to church due to a bad employment experience. I allowed the situation at the time to consume me and takeover. Instead of being proactive as it was happening; I allowed it to happen and I did not defend myself. For the first time in this article, I am admitting my reasons why? I blamed God for what happened to me. I know now that it was a subconscious thing. Just recently I came to this realization. I knew that in order to begin healing that I had to forgive myself, ask God to forgive me in order for my healing to begin.

Why return to church?

I believe that the reason to return to church is determined on what brought you to attending in the first place. What were you put on this earth to do? Spread awareness about Him? Again, the reasons vary from Christian to Christian but what I can say; we all have one common thread and that is to grow spiritually, to keep that connection with God and be a blessing to those that are in need. The Christian walk can be one of complexity but it does not have to be. Attending a church is just one aspect of our Christian life but if you have been away from church for awhile. Ask yourselves, why? Once, you have figured out the reasons, make a conscious decision to deal with it, then your healing can begin.
